A temple is a place of worship.
The Greeks were a civilization that constructed a lot of temples for their Gods. The Greeks did their worshiping outside of the temple and only went in the temple if they were bringing offerings to the Gods. Greek architecture consisted of a rectangular stone platform, front and back porches, and rows of columns. The Parthenon is an example of a Greek temple architecture. The Parthenon is located in Athens, Greece and is dedicated to the goddess Athena.
