Paiting in Ancient Civilizations had purposes other than just increasing the likable appearence of something.Egyptian tomb art is an example of a civilization that sees art as soemething conceptual rather than the principles of perspective. Egyptian tomb art used painting as an instructiuon manual for the deceased. The art provided everything the deceased would need in his after life. It was also used to form a point that there is a difference between the living and the dead. Egyptian paintings were made in a side full profile view because it was an image of how the deceased wanted to appear in his after life. Therefore it was important for the artist to use a twist perspective technique. Men were shown strong and youthful therefore they were shown bare-chested and wearing a short kilt. Yet men were also drawn mature and powerful therefore the would be showing a longer kilt. Women were always shown youthful and slender, often wearing a very tight and long dress that symbolyzez their fertility. Children could be shown as miniature adults if drawn with a sidelock of hair or with a finger in the mouth.Paintings also show the difference in class because the lower classes were painted completely naked. Industrial production processes were also painted in tomb art in order to ensure a life long supply of food for the deceased. Egyptian paintings can be more sophisticated than what it first appears to be and can hold hidden meanings or messages in them.
